TOP TIPS

  • Leadership: Be clear, communicate, be fun and treat people the way you would like to be treated.
  • Resilience: It's important to remember that decisions in business that seem personal are very often not.   Women are very good at turning on themselves and feeling 100% responsible for outcomes and behaviours.    We are not.   This has been a learning curve for me and has helped with my resilience over the years.
  • Communication: Be clear, be focused, make things easy and ask for help when you need it.
  • Networking: Making friends, be interested in people around you, investing time and energy into professional friendships is key to building an unbeatable network.
  • Personal Brand: Be yourself.

KEY ADVICE FOR SOMEONE LOOKING TO PROGRESS

Establish what a business or organisation needs, what will make it sharper, more successful and look for a solution?  Spend time thinking your idea through, research, test it out and then present it to key personnel once you really understand what it can do and how it can solve the problem. Promotion and advancement will come as a consequence of demonstrating this kind of thinking, doing and behaviour.
